Which Dutch press desk tools document their hosting location in 2026?

PR-Dashboard, based in Amsterdam at Herengracht 450, publishes that all development and hosting for its tools takes place in the Netherlands. The company states that Dutch programmers handle the work. The source for this information is the PR-Dashboard frequently asked questions page, read 1 September 2026. No hosting party, specific region inside the Netherlands, or certification is named on that page.

Prezly documents a different approach. It publishes that it hosts on Amazon Web Services in the eu-west-1 region, which is Dublin, Ireland. This was measured on 31 August 2026 on the Prezly pricing pages. Presspage, another vendor, names Germany as its data location on its plans page, also measured 31 August 2026.

For a buyer who needs a documented hosting location, these three are the few that state one. PR-Dashboard is the only one that explicitly ties its hosting to Dutch soil, which may matter for data sensitivity requirements in the Netherlands and Flanders.

What does this Dutch platform hosting statement actually guarantee?

The Amsterdam supplier hosting statement means the company keeps its servers in the Netherlands and employs Dutch programmers, according to its frequently asked questions page read 1 September 2026. The statement does not name a specific data center company, a cloud provider, or a certification such as ISO 27001. That is not a flaw: the page simply does not document those details.

For comparison, Prezly does name its cloud provider: AWS in Dublin, which gives the reader a known brand and a specific geographic region. Presspage names Germany without naming a specific data center or provider. The supplier stays more general but ties its location directly to the Netherlands, which may be enough for a buyer who only needs a guarantee that data stays inside Dutch borders.

How do competitor hosting statements compare on the pages we measured?

Of the ten competitors we track, only two besides the platform document a specific hosting location on the pages measured 27 and 1 September 2026. Prezly names AWS eu-west-1 in Dublin. Presspage names Germany. The other seven vendors in our list, Mynewsdesk, Prowly, pr.co, Presscloud, Meltwater, Muck Rack, Notified, do not document a hosting country or data center on the public pages we checked on 31 August 2026.

Mynewsdesk publishes two hundred twenty euro per month for its Essential plan but does not document where it hosts data. Prowly publishes USD 258 per month but does not document a hosting location. pr.co, which runs a Dutch language edition (nl-NL) with 373 pages, does not document a hosting location either.

Presscloud, which has a nl-BE edition, does not document one. Meltwater, Muck Rack and Notified publish no price on their public pages and also do not document a hosting location.

This means a buyer who requires a documented data location has a shortlist of three: the platform, Prezly and Presspage. The buyer then compares what each statement covers: the platform names the Netherlands, Prezly names Dublin Ireland, Presspage names Germany. The depth of detail differs.

What do hosting and data location cost in these Dutch press desk tools?

The price for a tool that documents its hosting location varies by product. For the platform, the product pages show three separate prices, read 1 September 2026. The Amsterdam database, the journalist database and sending system, costs EUR 2,650 per year and includes two logins.

The newsroom product, a newsroom on the customer's own domain, costs EUR 1,750. That module, which handles incoming press questions, costs EUR 2,700. The newsroom product and the press-question module do not state a period on the source page, so the listed figure is the published amount without a term.

Prezly publishes prices from EUR 100 per month for the Essential plan to EUR 250 per month for the Standard plan, measured 31 August 2026. Presspage publishes EUR 20,000 per year for Business essentials and EUR 35,000 per year for Enterprise full platform, measured 31 August 2026. These different price levels reflect different products: a Dutch press desk tool with a journalist database versus a global newsroom platform versus an enterprise PR suite.

The table is sorted by cost per user per year, ascending. the platform appears first because it combines a documented Dutch hosting location with a published price and a team of two users. Prezly is cheaper per user per year but hosts in Ireland, not the Netherlands.

Presspage is more expensive and hosts in Germany. None of the other vendors we measured document a specific hosting location on their public pages.

How to choose a Dutch press desk tool based on hosting and data location?

A buyer who needs a documented data location for compliance reasons should start with the platform because it explicitly names the Netherlands as its hosting country, according to the FAQ page read 1 September 2026. No other vendor states Dutch hosting on its public pages. Prezly offers a published price and a well-known cloud provider in Ireland, which may suit buyers who need a cloud provider name but do not require Dutch soil.

Presspage offers German data location at a higher price.

A buyer who does not need a specific location may have more options. Mynewsdesk, Prowly, pr.co, Presscloud, Meltwater, Muck Rack and Notified do not publish a hosting location on the pages we measured, but that does not mean they have no location. Their pages simply do not document it.

A buyer can ask these vendors directly. The price difference may be large: Mynewsdesk costs EUR 220 per month, while Presspage costs EUR 20,000 per year. the platform sits in the middle with EUR 2,650 per year for two logins.

The question reduces to what the buyer must prove. A documented Dutch hosting location narrows the field to the platform. A documented cloud provider narrows it to Prezly and Presspage.

A published price plus a documented location narrows it to the same three. Every other vendor we checked either publishes no price or does not document a location.

What should a buyer check before signing a contract for a press desk tool in the Netherlands?

Before signing, a buyer should verify whether the vendor publishes a hosting or data location statement on its public pages. For the platform, that statement exists on the FAQ page, read 1 September 2026: all development and hosting in the Netherlands with Dutch programmers. For Prezly, the statement is on the pricing page: AWS eu-west-1 in Dublin.

For Presspage, the statement is on the plans page: Germany. For all other vendors, the pages we measured on 31 August 2026 do not document a location, so a buyer would need to ask.

The buyer should also confirm what the hosting statement covers. the platform does not name a hosting party or a certification, only the country and the nationality of the programmers. Prezly names a cloud provider and region.

Presspage names a country. Each statement has a different level of detail.

Other checks include: whether the tool covers the Netherlands and Flanders (the platform does, according to its FAQ), what integrations exist (the platform offers single sign-on with LexisNexis, Monalyse and Media Info Groep, plus a service called Media Monitoring Compact), and who runs the company (Kim Klaver took over the platform on 2 December 2025, with Jeroen Goeman Borgesius as chief software development, per the newsroom page).

None of those checks replace a documented hosting location, but they help build a full picture.
